Mother Teresa Visits to Tangier
01st October 2018

At the start of 2017 the Mother Teresa Group in Gibraltar invited MH Bland to join them on a trip to Tangier to visit the Sisters of Charity Home, a home for mothers pre and post maternity as well as a shelter for locals street boys and people in need from the countryside. We jumped at the opportunity to Do Good outside of Gibraltar.

MH Bland have now been involved in 3 trips with each involves members of MHB staff and the Mother Teresa Group working together to take over donated supplies, such as clean clothes, nappies, baby food, toys & even prams and cots to Tangiers. Upon arrival in Tangier we are always welcomed by our MH Bland Tangier team who escort us to the home, where we commence unpacking all suitcases and  help organise them.  We are then invited to visit the children, aged between new-born to 1 years old and spend some time playing with them. The smiles we receive from the children are indescribable and help to remind us how lucky we are at home and to appreciate the small things in life we all too often take for granted.

Over the years we have not only given our time but also donated larger items desperately needed. During out first visit in June 2017 it was clear that they was a needed to replace a broken fridge.  With the summer fast approaching the MH Bland Tangier Team purchased and installed a new fridge.

The close ties between Gibraltar and the Sisters of Charity Home in Tangier were evident from the start and it is wonderful to see this bond continue with the increase in interest from members of staff wanting to participate in bi-annual the trips.
