JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Finance Associate COMPANY: MH Bland & Co Ltd DEPARTMENT: Finance Department REPORTS TO: Finance Manager
PURPOSE:
Responsible for the administration of the sales/purchases/reporting and accounting functions of their particular company/operation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Operations
Post supplier invoices in an accurate and timely manner.
Prepare supplier statement reconciliations to ensure completeness of the accounting records.
Prepare expense claims for payment.
Prepare financial reports such as payment proposal runs for review.
Prepare payments in banking systems for approval.
Prepare customer invoices for review and approval.
Reconcile bank statements and general ledgers accounts assigned.
Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation as requested.
Ad hoc tasks that may be given from time to time.
Reporting & Insights
Develop an understanding and use of the financial and reporting tools used by the department.
Stakeholder Service Excellence
Assist in maintaining high standards of customer service by ensuring that client enquiries and requests are handled promptly and effectively.
Initiate contact with debtors, politely inform them of our terms and conditions and request payment of outstanding balances.
Maintain detailed records of debtor communication and escalate when required.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with internal stakeholders to close the intercompany billing cycle – raise invoices, reconcile statements and ensure payments are made and received in a timely manner.
Process Improvement
Identify inefficiencies in reporting, documentation, or cost allocation and escalate to management.
Prepare process notes for all tasks and update as needed.
Training and development
Engage with team objectives and action as necessary. Create, agree and own personal objectives for career growth and development.
Contribute to building a positive and collaborative team culture.
Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards learning.
In addition to the above, the jobholder will be required to perform other duties which may be assigned by the Manager/Directors from time to time.

A clear understanding of the Quality Manuals and Work Instructions with respect to SAFETY is essential. At all times, the job holder should operate in the interests of the company and its customers.
Requirements:
Experience in a similar finance role.
Proven invoice processing experience.
Familiarity with financial and reporting systems (advantageous).
Strong numerical, analytical, and Microsoft Office skills.
