JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Hub desk – Back office COMPANY: MH BLAND, S.L. DEPARTMENT: Hub department – Algeciras REPORTS TO: Hub Manager
PURPOSE: Operational support to local port agents across the company’s offices in Spain. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Managing documentation and formalities with port and government authorities (Harbour Master, Port Authority, Health Authorities and Immigration).
- Preparing and processing cargo manifests and vessel documentation.
- Coordinating vessel port calls with ships, local agents and service providers
- Preparing Proforma Disbursement Accounts (PDAs).
- Updating internal operational systems and databases.
- Resolving operational issues and ensuring the smooth execution of vessel calls.
In addition to the above, the jobholder will be required to perform other duties which may be assigned by the company from time to time. QUALITY & CUSTOMER SERVICE:
In carrying out all the above, the jobholder will always adhere to ISO9001 objectives and will comply with all departmental and company requirements, procedures and policies as stated in the Quality Manuals. A clear understanding of the Quality Manuals and Work Instructions is essential. At all times, the jobholder should operate in the interests of the company and its customers. REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as Port Agent and/or Operator in the Maritime would be valuable.
- Shipping Agent certification would be an asset.
- A qualification in International Trade & Logistics would be an asset.
- Excellent telephone manner and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and oral.
- Good organization skills
- Holding of clean driving license is essential Class “B”. Own vehicle
- Good all-round skills in MS Office applications and any other software used in the Agency Department. Ability and willingness to learn any new tools brought into the department.
- Technical awareness, i.e. able to comprehend the operating system environment used in the department.
- Be able to work as part of a team as well as independently.
- Ability to multitask.
- Attention to detail.
- Proactively seek and share information with colleagues.
- Have excellent time keeping skills and punctuality.
