JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Junior Port Agent 
COMPANY: MH BLAND, S.L.
DEPARTMENT: Operations Department Tenerife
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager Tenerife

PURPOSE:

Assisted in coordinating all documentation within the Port Agency Department, including port entry formalities, customs procedures, and crew changes, maintaining close communication with all parties involved.

 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Liaised with clients and port authorities regarding visa requirements, customs clearance, declarations, and port call submissions.

  • Ensured compliance with customs regulations and assisted in the preparation and submission of required documentation.

  • Supported Port Agents in resolving operational and documentation-related issues efficiently.

  • Prepared and compiled Final Disbursement Accounts (FDAs).

  • Provided quotations to clients for crew change services.

  • Kept Principals fully informed of all crew change movements and updates.

  • Reported operational developments to the Line Manager.

In addition to the above, the jobholder will be required to perform other duties which may be assigned by the company from time to time.

A clear understanding of the Quality Manuals and Work Instructions is essential. At all times, the jobholder should operate in the interests of the company and its customers.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fluency in English and Spanish both written and oral.

  • Good all-round skills in MS Office applications and any other software used in the Agency Department.

  • Ability and willingness to learn any new tools brought into the department.

  • Technical awareness, i.e. able to comprehend the operating system environment used in the department.

  • Ability to manage one’s time.

  • Flexible attitude to work.

  • Proactively seek and share information with colleagues.

  • Be able to work under one’s initiative and as part of a team.
