JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Waiter/Cleaner - Cable Car Staff
COMPANY: MH Bland & Co Ltd
DEPARTMENT: The Cable Car – Mons Calpe Suite
REPORTS TO: Head Waiter


PURPOSE:
Provide a high level of customer service and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet customers when they arrive and seat them
  • Introduce customers to the menu and announce daily or seasonal menu specials
  • Answer questions about menu offerings, ingredients, and pricing
  • Advise customers with food allergies or dietaries by liaising with kitchen and bar teams and ensuring the order is processed correctly
  • Provide high level of service and efficiency to customers
  • Prepare and serve hot, cold drinks and speciality beverages to customers
  • Process and pass customer food orders to the kitchen for preparation
  • Carry food orders from the kitchen, verify orders are correct, and serve them to customers
  • Ensure used dishes, glasses, and flatware from tables are removed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure that customers are satisfied with their meals and process orders for additional courses if necessary
  • Prepare bills and deliver to customer
  • Process customer cash/credit card payments and return change when necessary
  • Maintain familiarity with menu items, specials, and restaurant information
  • Prepare and set tables as per restaurant protocol
  • Clean and sanitise service areas, table/seating areas, utensils, and equipment
  • Order, receive and distribute stock supplies
  • Assist with setting up the restaurant for events including table preparations, display decorations, ironing tablecloths, and moving furniture around in a safe manner as and when required
  • Bar tender, and maintain efficient, well stocked, and clean bar area
  • Liaise with the Bottom Station to ensure the efficient delivery of supplies to the Top Station
  • Assist with stock control as and when required
  • Report all equipment malfunctions

In addition to the above the job holder will perform the following duties:

  • Clear and clean all areas of the restaurant
  • Unload and put away deliveries
  • Empty bins, sweep, and mop floors
  • Ensure all equipment is clean and put away correctly
  • Deep clean storerooms to maintain sanitary and safety standards
  • Cover for Kitchen Porter when absent

In addition to the above, the jobholder will be required to perform other duties which may be assigned by the company from time to time.

In carrying out all the above, the job holder will at all times adhere to ISO9001 objectives and will comply with all departmental and company requirements, procedures and policies as stated in the Quality Manuals. A clear understanding of the Quality Manuals and Work Instructions with respect to HEALTH & SAFETY is essential. At all times, the job holder should operate in the interests of the company its customers (internal or external).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • MUST have a minimum of 5 years’ work experience within a busy and exclusive restaurant
  • MUST have previous experience as a Waiter
  • MUST be assertive, decisive, and able to take immediate action when necessary
  • Significant experience in food & beverage service
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written)
